Countries have different visa requirements before allowing entry to foreigners. Some states have tons of visa requirements even if you are only staying there for a few days on holiday. They also offer different conditions for people depending on their passport.
You might complain about all these requirements, or how unfair the policies are, but at the end of the day, the decision remains that of the country. Entering their land is not a right, but a privilege, and so is visa approval.
Some countries require medical visas for holidays. You need to undergo tests and submit the results to the embassy before you will receive a travel visa. You might wonder why they require such results when you are only staying there for a few days.
You could be a health risk
Over the years, several diseases have spread because of only one patient who carried a virus. Due to the interaction with other people, the disease instantly spread. Several diseases are contagious, and governments need to ensure that people who are a health risk will not receive a visa to prevent the spread of the disease.
Governments have to protect their citizens
The primary responsibility of the governments around the world is protection for their citizens in many ways. Providing health security is on this list. Therefore, allowing people who have specific medical conditions that could affect them is considered neglect. Threats occur in different forms, and health threats are among them.
It is for your benefit too
You are eager to travel to different places without realising that you are not in perfect shape to do so. Some countries don’t want to take responsibility for you if you happen to get sick or die in their land. They would need to find the means to communicate with your government regarding your case, and it means added expenses for them. Therefore, if you are sick, and you can’t travel, it is better to stay home, and wait until you get better before you apply for a visa again. You will get approval when you show proof that you are well.
They are a small country
Some small island countries are strict when it comes to medical visas. They live on an island with only a few people. Once the virus spreads, it will easily affect everyone in the region. Worse, some people in the area are yet to develop their immune system to combat some illnesses. They can’t take the risk and allow people who are ill to come in.
There is an outbreak
During the outbreak of the Ebola virus, a lot of countries required medical results before granting a visa. They even banned entry to people coming from specific countries. They are on a heightened alert since an outbreak easily gets out of control.
In the end, if you want to visit a country, you have no choice but to follow their rules. If they require a medical visa, get one, or else you won’t have the chance to make that dream come true.
